What a Suzuki windscreen usually carries
Before we quote a Suzuki, we work out what is actually in the glass. On current Suzuki models that usually means rain sensor on higher grades.
Behind the mirror sits a camera, and on some models a laser sensor, mounted behind the glass, feeding Dual Sensor Brake Support on equipped models. The windscreen has to carry the right bracket and a clear optical zone in front of the lens, and the camera is recalibrated once the new glass is bonded in.
Suzuki's small cars are light on options, so the glass is often simpler and the job quicker than a comparable European car.

Dual Sensor Brake Support on equipped models reads the road through the windscreen, so replacing the glass moves the camera and the system has to be recalibrated rather than merely reconnected.
Suzuki calls its driver-assistance package Dual Sensor Brake Support on equipped models. The part that concerns us is the camera behind the windscreen. It reads lane markings, the vehicle ahead and, on most systems, pedestrians, and it does that through the glass.
Take the old windscreen out and put a new one in, even a perfect fit, and the camera is no longer looking at the world from exactly the same angle. A few tenths of a degree at the glass becomes metres of error at a hundred metres down the road. That is why Dual Sensor Brake Support on equipped models needs recalibrating after a replacement rather than merely being reconnected.
