The glass
What an LDV windscreen usually carries
Before we quote an LDV, we work out what is actually in the glass. On current LDV models that usually means rain sensor on some grades and large van screens.
Behind the mirror sits a single forward-facing camera mounted behind the glass, just ahead of the mirror, feeding LDV driver assistance on later models. The windscreen has to carry the right bracket and a clear optical zone in front of the lens, and the camera is recalibrated once the new glass is bonded in.
LDV vans and utes are working vehicles, and we fit them at depots and yards rather than asking them off the road.

LDV driver assistance on later models and why calibration matters
LDV driver assistance on later models reads the road through the windscreen, so replacing the glass moves the camera and the system has to be recalibrated rather than merely reconnected.
LDV calls its driver-assistance package LDV driver assistance on later models. The part that concerns us is the camera behind the windscreen. It reads lane markings, the vehicle ahead and, on most systems, pedestrians, and it does that through the glass.
Take the old windscreen out and put a new one in, even a perfect fit, and the camera is no longer looking at the world from exactly the same angle. A few tenths of a degree at the glass becomes metres of error at a hundred metres down the road. That is why LDV driver assistance on later models needs recalibrating after a replacement rather than merely being reconnected.
Coverage varies by grade on an LDV far more than by model year, so we confirm it from your build rather than assuming. If it needs calibrating, it is in the quote, not added later.

Can you replace an LDV windscreen at my home or work?
Yes, and that is how we do most LDV jobs. We bring the glass, the urethane and the tools to the vehicle. We need room to open both front doors and somewhere reasonably sheltered if it is raining.
Does my LDV need the camera recalibrated after a new windscreen?

What decides the price of an LDV windscreen?

Can a chip in an LDV windscreen be repaired instead?
